Wrestling
Joinn Our Team!
The wrestling team is looking for individuals to join them this season who desire to improve their athletic abilities, learn self defense, or simply test your toughness. We will have weights and conditioning included with wrestling training. Anyone can wrestle. Girls compete separately and all skill levels will be evaluated for a proper competition level. Everyone practices, everyone competes. You earn your spot on the team! No experience is necessary. Those interested in joining the team should go to the athletics page on the Livermore High Home Page and sign up through athletic clearance. A current physical must be turned in or uploaded to be eligible for the team. Practices will be held from M-F from 3:45pm-6:15/6:30pm. Weights and conditioning from 3:45pm-4:45pm with a 15 minute break and then wrestling training from 5:00pm-6:15/6:30pm. The current competition schedule is located below. Come and join a 60-year-winning tradition. We will have former coaches who were Big 10 Champions and NCAA All Americans, Multiple State placers in California and New York, and NCS Champions. Come and learn from a very experienced coaching staff. You never know what you are capable of until you try!!!

Upgrades to the Yard
MANY PROJECTS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED WHILE OTHERS STILL BEING DONE
Pokes Baseball is always looking to upgrade the yard and facilities and this year is no different. There have been many major projects in the past: re-sodded the infield grass four times since 2001, new dugouts in 2005, new brick backstop and raised seating area in 2007, new batting cages in 2008, new home run fencing in 2008, sponsored brick wall in 2009, Wall of Fame and box seating in 2010, trees planted in outfield in 2011, new scoreboard in 2017, remodeled clubhouse in 2017, new home and visitor's bullpens in 2020 and a new mower to create patterns in the outfield in 2022. This year also saw quite a few changes to the yard:
NEW SIDING/REMODELED HOME DUGOUT AND WALL OF FAME: New siding, new paint, new plaques and signs for the Wall of Fame and back of the dugout. New custom benches are coming for both dugouts.
TURF ON PARTS OF FIELD: Artificial turf will be installed on the baselines and behind home plate
NEW BATTING CAGE NETS: Brand new nets in all the cages with new hitting mats coming in the spring

Game dates and times will be announced once all leagues have met. Please Note: Once selected as a team member, players are expected to take part in all practices and games. The varsity team will generally carry around 20 players. This number is subject to change based on player availability and coaches’ discretion.
Tryouts:
Official Start Date – February 10, 2025
Official tryouts will be held once the season begins. There will be open fields (Captain’s Practices), Strength, and Conditioning events held throughout the school year leading up to the season. This information can be found at the Livermore Women’s Lacrosse page @livermore_lax or by contacting the Head Coach or Team Captains to be added to team communication.
Equipment:
The school will provide uniforms for all team members. Those playing goalie will be provided with all goalie equipment. Some field equipment (eye protection gear and lacrosse stick) may be available to borrow during the season (subject to availability).
However, all team members are expected to arrive at tryouts with the following equipment in order to play on the field.

Student athletes must complete their online registration through Home Campus including a signed parent permission form and a physical examination form signed by a medical doctor before they are permitted to participate in a practice or a contest. There are no circumstances under which a coach may allow a student to participate before these documents are submitted and verified.
Athletes must have up-to-date physicals (within the last calendar year) and at least a 2.0 GPA in the most recent trimester in order to be eligible for athletics.
